Goal

by Sep 2007, be able to run two disparate execution models on one existing architecture via re-composing OS components.

Milestones

• Initial set of components (UNM)
• Application selection
  • MPI (Sandia) - HPCC/Purple?
  • Parcels (LSU) - Directed graph?

• App implementation

LSU owns application software architecture UNM owns OS component framework

by end may (FAST-OS PI meeting):

• complete specification of ParalleX
• applications should be selected, and general expectations of their performance determined
• first cut of components finished (memory, communications, scheduling)
• evaluation of Catamount/Xen as a virtualization layer
